I often wondered if there was some form of infidelity (be it PA/EA) involved. It is slightly odd that her husband declares his departure to his wife, to simply go off on his own? Wondered if her husband was involved in someone else e.g. mistress etc. |

that was a really good article. I'm like the husband - bored to death for no real reason and want to be alone. It's hard to force yourself forward - everything seems grey in life. Maybe there's hope!

Thanks for sharing! This woman is very wise. She also wrote a book This Is Not The Story You Think It Is: A Season of Unlikely Happiness. Maybe it worth reading. People who doesn't give up - no matter what happens - inspire me.

This is an interesting article, every situation's different but at least it gives some food for thought. It's hard to be in a relationship when you're not settled in your individual self, and sometimes a person may go through some kind of midlife crisis or individual identity crisis and it feels like it can't be resolved within the relationship. Luckily this woman gave her husband the space to sort out his individual issues while still being able to be inside the family system. People are always changing so two partners can never know what changes will come along, but when each person respects the other's autonomy it can help a lot.
I've written a lot of posts about marriage on my blog which is at goldsteintherapy.com |
