ring/wedding help

Hi all, what's up? My boyfriend recently proposed and is now wondering my ring size.....everyone but me seems to think I have small fingers so I don't know that just get the average size would work. Is it free to go to a jewelry shop or somewhere to get it sized?

Also, we are not having a real wedding, we just want to get our marriage license fairly quickly and cheaply. Does anyone know the proper steps one must take to get married?

Thank-you so much!

Hi there

I am sure that a shop would measure your finger for you. You could always use the opportunity to try a few rings on to see what style you would like.

I guess you may be from USA. I don't know much about getting married there, but I think you have to both go to your local town or city clerk's office to apply for a licence. It would be wise to call first to check what papers you need to take with you.

Hope that helps
Kate

You can get sized at any reputable jeweler's. Once you are sized, however, you should compare prices for what you want in various jewelry stores around town, as well as using internet jewelry stores. My fiance and I found our best price for what we wanted at a site called Abazias. They were very helpful with us, and we learned a great deal about engagement rings and wedding rings on their website.
As far as the legalities of getting married go, you just have to go down to your county courthouse and fill out the paperwork for a marriage license.;)
