Re: I can't let go!

yes I feel for her as well. To be in a seemingly loveless marriage must be very painful.

Re: I can't let go!

Yes. Adultery is terrible but there are worse things.

Re: I can't let go!

Well that's why I dont see the point of thinking like that. Looking back with regret is a pointless exercise I have discovered. Learn from the past, accept that in all marriages there are good times...

Re: I can't let go!

Yes, so right. Marriage is THE best place for sex. When you truly love someone and are 100% committed to them, sex is enriched incredibly.

It wasn't actually adultery that ended my marriage...

Re: I can't let go!

How did they think they got conceived?????

Yes it is a wrench but so is being in a miserable home with rowing and unhappiness and cheating etc. My husband hated his parents always rowing and they...

Re: I can't let go!

yes and we need to remember that many have no choice about the marriage ending anyway because their spouse has betrayed them or left them or divorces them. I guess that I have learnt not to look to...

Re: I can't let go!

The thing is that no matter how many years have been invested in that marriage, there is always life after divorce. New beginnings and fresh starts. Sometimes we need to let go of the past and look...

Re: I can't let go!

Brilliant Pamela. I am sure that will help you a lot. Often talking to another person gives clarity of thought, and decisions are easier to make.

Re: I can't let go!

There is no way that he should be telling her your personal problems . How is that going to help you stop being jealous? Neither should he be speaking about you to his mates like that. That is...

Re: I can't let go!

I agree Pamela
Look into things that you will enjoy. A choir, an evening class, a sport or whatever it
may be. Why not plan a holiday alone or with a friend or family members?

Re: I can't let go!

I think the problem is that you have always given, and he has always taken. You do get marriages like that, in fact my husbands first marriage was like that. He was always trying to keep her happy,...

Re: I can't let go!

You are living separate lives under the same roof. There is no marriage in the real sense of the word. Even when he is there he wants nothing to do with you. It must be a very lonely existence, but...

Re: I can't let go!

Yes it is, but its only you who can make the decision to either live with it or not. Even if he hasn't actually had sex with her, its almost certainly an inappropriate emotional relationship. That's...

Re: I can't let go!

You have no way of knowing if these trips are legitimate of not or whether he is staying with her or not. I hope that you will get solid evidence if he is physically cheating.

Re: I can't let go!

Maybe he needs to know how unhappy you are and how seriously you are thinking of leaving. If he refuses to listen or go to counselling, then write him a letter. If he knows that you are that...

Re: I can't let go!

Pamela, to be honest it doesn't sound as if you have ever had much of a marriage in the right sense of the word. Its as if he feels he is doing you a favour by staying with you, so you have to accept...

Re: I can't let go!

I can understand that. I think its better to live alone than be in a unhappy marriage where you can trust your spouse, and you don't even know how much money he has!

He may as well be a lodger to...

Re: I can't let go!

Well to be quite honest, what sort of marriage is it with no honesty, only lies, secrets and weird attitudes to 'his' money and 'your' money.
In marriage everything should be shared and nothing...

Re: I can't let go!

He is again trying to shut you up with up with anger. Just say calmly that from now on you are going with him on any over night stays, and that you will do your own thing during the day and will...

Re: I can't let go!

Why not call his bluff and say that from now on you would like to go with him on his trips away fishing. Then tell him you can spend quality time together. See what he says. If he says 'well you...

Re: I can't let go!

HI Pamela
In your position I would need to sit down with him, maybe in a counselling setting, and get to the bottom of this. He at least owes you that. I personally wouldn't put up with this...
