I wouldn't see that as a problem to be honest. It's much better to have different personalities on here.

Could be tab.
I used to be very quiet and shy in my teens and early adult hood. life had made me tougher and more likely to speak out and stand up for what I feel is right.

Re: I don't love my wife and never have...
We are all different. I suppose I am the quieter type. Funny how you can notice that on here.
Magneto if there is a view on anything in our marriage then we will see things differently. That can be complimentary as none of us see things perfectly. You would have been attracted to someone different in the first place. So long as both agree on the main things it doesn't much matter.
I think you are making the wrong move personally but you have to do what you have to do. I have an inkling that it might be a release for her when you go.

MY husband also gets given prophecies and words for people as well(also 100% Biblical). Jesus Himself say that we are to lay hands on the sick and needy.
Like you I didn't grow up in a church where the Holy Spirit was allowed to work, and everything was controlled, and so I knew nothing of all that, but once I started learning about how much more there was as an adult, I didn't look back. Why not read what God says about such things, and ask yourself why you are so opposed to it all. Its from God, that I do know. Maybe that would help you to understand your wife more?
I have a friend who had an illness that left her wheelchair bound for 7 years. One day a young Christian prayed for her and laid her hands on her, and she was instantly healed and never needed that wheelchair again.

Tongues is all interpretation. It is biblical in prayer, a language between you and God. However, we both know that isn't what goes on in churches. Miracles do happen, but not very Sunday in every church.

I would have thought so too, Raymond. I totally agree with you.
It must be sad for both of them for a while but ultimately, it must be a huge relief for her.

Thank you for being incredibly so generous as always, Raymond.
We are weak as individuals but if we are all together, we are much better.

That is true. We don't really grow in isolatation. We need interaction but time alone as well I think.

Why would you say it would be a release/relief for her?

That was my inkling not Rose's Magneto. Do you not agree with that?
I suspect she is trying to save the marriage as she thinks it is the right thing to do.
You are against her faith and against further commitment so I suspect it would be a relief for her in one sense as she will be legitimately free to marry again if she did so choose.

In many countries in the world healings happen all the time.
There is too mush doubt and unbelief in the west for it to happen often.
Tongues given in church needs to be interpreted because it is God speaking. Our own private prayer language of tongues can be used any time any place. I have been to several churches where the gifts are used properly and as the Bible states.

I am not sure that we know why she wants the marriage to carry on do we? It may be because she knows its what God wants, and if there has been no sexual immorality, would she be free to marry again anyway? Many Christians would say not, because the original marriage convenant is still intact.

I'm not against her faith (i am aslo a christian) or further committment. I just believe it's too damaged to repair. I'm sure there is more than one reason she wants to save the marriage. I have had my reasons as well (kids, family, friends, security). However, none of them is worth more years of turmoil for me.

Re: I don't love my wife and never have...
I can't really make a judgment but I agree that speaking in tongues in the church does put people off and me in fact unless there is an interpretation of what is being said. I don't know about the shouting. Could be good or bad who knows.
The first interpretation I ever heard was "Your life is a dry desert. So dry that there are cracks in it. I want to come into those cracks and bring life to your soul". I became a christian from that so I am not against using the gifts of the spirit if it is done decently and in order. I gathered you were against the gifts and she wasn't and I could feel the tension in this.
None of this is changing your mind. You haven't really said much about her at all so it's hard for anyone to make judgments.
