Question Any tips on Save the Date Cards

My wedding is planned for the first week of the school summer holidays when many people may be planning to go on holiday. So as not to clash with any holidays that may be being booked, I have heard you can send out Save the Date cards but I am unsure what to put on the card and who to send them to, as we only have a preliminary guest list.

Can anyone help?

Perhaps you could say you've settled the date for your wedding date and hope they will put the date in their diaries to think of you on that date. If it's a church wedding, it's traditional for anyone to be able to come to the church, and only those specially invited come on to the reception, so you could invite people to the church and sedn invitations to the reception out later. You could send the date out to everyone you might invite, but really the best thing to do would be to get your guest list as clear as you can and then you'll just have to take the risk that any late additions haven't booked their holidays.
