Marriage Weekend?

Has anyone tried this website marriageweekend.co.uk where you and partner go away for a weekend and get given marital advice etc?

Got recommended it by a friend so just wondered if anyone has done it and if it helped?

Re: Marriage Weekend?

Have to say that we have not come across this particular company at all previously. Looking at their programme I have to say I have some concerns - it looks to be very US in approach (single sex sessions etc) rather than the more private and couple focussed approach of many of the organisations over here.

Their address is actually a firm of Chartered Accountants!

The cost is exorbitant (£1895 for a one night programme) compared with £200-400 for a typical weekend, or free if you choose Marriage Encounter!!

Take a look at http://www.2-in-2-1.co.uk/healthclub/servprov/ - there are a lot better value and proven resources to help you

Re: Marriage Weekend?

Thanks Sigh - I have also emailed the Chartered Accountants to advise them their address is being misused.

Re: Marriage Weekend?

Its genuine and it's £495 for luxury hotel all included. It is a new company but seems a worthwhile help for couples.

Hi Mike

Thanks for coming back - are you (or your friend) connected with the venture?

I'd like to know more - so probably best to contact by email rather than here on the forums - info@2-in-2-1.co.uk will reach me

Re: Marriage Weekend?

A quick glance at the site shows me that it is occult connected in the way it talks about marriage spells etc. I would stay well clear of it.

Re: Marriage Weekend?

If it mentions marriage spells then keep WELL away. Here is a good course that my husband and I have been on.

Re: Marriage Weekend?

I clicked on the domain site that Sigh mentioned and did click up marriage spells and stuff. In hindsight I think they covered a lot of sites and I clicked the wrong one so maybe www.marriageweekend.co.uk in itself is okay as Dave suggested to me.

Re: Marriage Weekend?

I have been in email contact with the organisers and it all seems fine to me.

And yes it is free advertising - but at least it's on focus - and here at 2-in-2-1 we really like to encourage people to do something pro-active for their marriage rather than wait till disaster strikes!!
