can a great loss stop the lies, secrets, gambling?

i have been married for nearly 3 years. i recently found out that my husband had borrowed up to £3000 from my brother, he paid it back at the time! but i never found out untill 7 months after it and it was my brother and my mum who told me!! i knew he had a bad gambling habit, the stupid thing is i met him in a casino, 7 months ago he lost alot of money and broke his promise not to gamble!! then sadly 5-6 months ago his father suddenly passed away, my husband was with his dad at the end!! we have had a lot of arguments in the past and a few days ago wen i found out he had borrowed money behind my back, i was deaply hurt!! i dont know if we can continue with the marriage, he tells me he changed because his dad passed away and it made him see wat was important in life!!! i would like to know if it is best to cut all ties or to give him another chance!! please send me your comments, thanks for the help!! i grew up with two alcoholic parents who pretended there relationship was good, i dont want to let history repeat itself!!!

I'm sorry I don't know much about gambling problems. Does he acknowedge that he does have a problem, would he be prepared to go to gamblers anon?
I would suggest you go to one of the support groups for familys of people with addiction problems, there you may pick up some constructive advice and insight in to your own co-dependency. I hope things work out for you.
