Cogwheel Trust
Introduction
The Cogwheel Trust is a charity which was set up in 1988 to help people who were going through or had gone through marriage difficulties. It also provides a service to help couples prepare for marriage. Issues around marriage are still very much at the centre of the counselling service provided at Cogwheel, but also we now offer counselling to individuals and families for a wide range of issues.
There is generally a waiting list although we try contact people as soon as possible once you contact the Centre. During the assessment the client's needs will be appraised and they will then be allocated an appropriate counsellor for further appointments. Currently we have 40 counsellors working on a part time basis at Cogwheel, they come from differing counselling backgrounds and so the organisation is able to meet a wide range of client needs.
The charity provides a service to the whole of the community. As a charity we operate a sliding scale and we ask that client contribute realistically towards the cost of each session. The organisation adheres to the code of conduct of and is a member of the British Association of Counsellors.
